One of Canterbury"s oldest homesteads lovingly restored to its former glory, The Oaks Historic Homestead is surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Southern Alps on State Highway 73 to the West Coast.

Situated between the Waimakariri and the Rakaia river gorges, it has all major Canterbury ski fields, golf courses and tourist attractions on its doorstep, and is only a leisurely 35 minutes drive from Christchurch airport and city.

The homestead features 4 guest rooms (three queen size and one single incl. cot) with ensuite and private bathrooms. The separate guest dining room and stunning living room complete with inviting open fires will make your stay a memorable one. Relax on our beautiful verandas with a book, entertain some friends or just relax and breathe in the fresh, clean air amidst the beautiful tranquil setting.

Our traditional large homestead kitchen is still heated by the original Atlas coalrange. Enjoy a delicious home baked breakfast in the kitchen, the elegant dining room or in the sun on the veranda. Lunch and dinner reservations can be made direct with the property on point of reservation. There is ample parking, large grounds and children"s play equipment.
